Choosing Your Batting
80/20 cotton-poly is our most popular choice — soft, natural-feeling, and it quilts beautifully across the low to medium density range. PolyDown polyester is lighter with a little more loft.
Like your backing, batting needs to be 8 inches larger than your quilt top in both directions.
If you are piecing your own batting it needs to lay completely flat. Smooth it out with your hands — if there are lumps or fullness, it may show through in the finished quilt. Please, no sticky seam tape.
